Nearly 1000 people, including our family and many friends, gathered at St. Joseph's Cathedral, Sioux Falls, South Dakota to celebrate the ordination to the priesthood of our son Kevin and 3 of his colleagues. The joyful, emotional occasion marked the grand finale of 8 years of study for Kevin. His first parish assignment is at Holy Spirit Parish, Sioux Falls. We are happy to have him closer to home.

As Jeff Norfolk looks on, Bishop Paul J. Swain anoints Kevin's hands with chrism oil. This group of men were the first that Bishop Swain had ordained.

How blessed we were to have our family around us to celebrate with us.

Cody & Wesley spent from mid-May until mid-June with us. Cody helped with ranch work and also spent time via the internet on his job with the Borlaug Institute in the international ag office at Texas A&M in College Station, Texas. He's working on an agricultural project in Iraq. Wesley spent most of her time studying for the MCAT which is the entrance exam for medical school.  She will be taking that in August in San Antonio.

Seth got in some relaxation on the living room floor during our big ordination weekend.
