10.2006 - Bar JZ Barn Razing

In 1928 when Jake Zilverberg and his family moved to Hyde County, this barn was standing on the property.  Certainly it could tell many stories of the early settlement of the Dakota prairie and the changes that 100 years of technology has brought. It was with mixed emotions that we made the decision to destroy this old landmark and replace it with a new, up-to-date structure. Repairing the barn was not economically feasible.  In a short afternoon the barn was leveled and hauled away.
